Each class in our four-class series (weekly) uses progressive activities to reduce fall risk factors of
sensory awareness:
  1. vision
  2. inner ear
  3. proprioceptors/tiny gyroscopes
  4. stability and strength.
Upon completion, participants proceed to weekly
classes to maintain skills.
One Up Fit then focuses on improving the brain
function, which may suffer decline due to illness,
surgery, medication, or chemotherapy.

There are a series of activities designed to
stimulate brain development and influence
neurogenesis — new brain cells responsible for
learning new information to be stored in long-term memory.

Other activities target neuroplasticity, allowing the neurons (nerve cells used to regain flexible/agile thinking) in the brain to compensate for injury and disease and adjust activity in response to new situations or to changes in environment.
One Up Fit instructors address the fear| fall cycle. We empower participants to reconnect with their personal sense of strength and control. An instructor displays techniques that can be used in the event of a fall to reduce, or eliminate, the risk of injury.
