Don't Ditch the Dairy: Recipe to Combat Arthritis

Low fat dairy products such as milk, yogurt, cheese are packed with calcium. Did you know your body needs vitamin D in order to absorb calcium? The 2 need each other in order to keep your bones strong. Here is a delicious snack so you can take in some calcium then go outside for a walk and soak in the Vitamin D!




Ingredients

2 Cups Nonfat Greek Yogurt

1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

1 Cup Granola Cereal (you pick your favorite)

4 Cups of cut up fruit (frozen is also a good option)

Some seasonal fresh fruit suggestions: figs, blueberries, mango, peaches, apples, grapes, raspberries, strawberries...


Prep

1. Combine Yogurt and vanilla extract into a bowl and stir

2. Place your fruit in a mason jar / cup, then layer yogurt. Create multiple layers if you like

3. Store in your fridge

4. Top with granola before eating

This is a great meal if you are on-the-go or just need a light snack.
