How to Prepare for Coronavirus

The CDC is telling Americans to be prepared for the possibility of

COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak in US communities.

Don't panic

Do prepare

Here are a few possible answers :

Should I stock up on foods and meds?


  • The last place you want to be is in a crowded grocery store or drugstore

  • It will prepare you for "social distancing" or avoiding crowds.

  • Avoiding crowds will minimize your risk of infection.

  • Eliminate social norm touching (handshake, hug, fist bump)

You want to be stocked up in case there is an outbreak in your community.

Here is a grocery list on what can help you prepare:

Drink more water

  • Drinking more water will help regulate body functions.

  • Hydrate the body, so it prevents cold and flu.

  • Drink 6 to 8 glasses a day and more if you are working out.

Clean your hands

Handwashing to prevent illness

Wash with liquid soap (no bar soap) 20 - 30 sec.

Dry hands until completely dry! Hand drying is critically important:

damp hands can spread up to 1,000 times more bacteria than dry ones

Simple homemade hand sanitizer:

40% Rubbing Alcohol

60% Water

*if you like, add a few drops of essential oil (lemon, peppermint, etc)
